Percy Collaborate Update 2024.05

Hey there! We’re excited to share the latest update to Percy Collaborate. This update is packed with new features designed to streamline your provisioning requests and boost productivity. We’ve also made some improvements and squashed a few bugs to ensure a more stable and reliable platform for you. Let’s take a closer look at what’s new.

✨ New

Automatic SharePoint Group Integration

To make the provisioning process even smoother, designated owners and members are now automatically added to their respective SharePoint groups during site provisioning. This automation ensures that permissions are set up correctly from the get-go, saving you time and reducing manual errors.

Detailed Status Panel

We’re introducing a new, detailed status panel for all new provisioning requests. This feature lets you see the overall state of a request, including its start time, the number of attempts made, and the final outcome. With this transparency, you can track your requests more efficiently and get insights into the provisioning process.

Enhanced Logging

Detailed logging is now available through the detail panel as well. You can access comprehensive logs to get a deeper understanding of the provisioning process and help diagnose issues more effectively. This feature is especially handy for admins who need to troubleshoot site templates and ensure everything runs smoothly.

Resource Availability Check

In line with Azure Entra naming policies, resource availability is now checked right when you validate the resource name. This proactive approach ensures names are validated effectively, giving you full control from the start and preventing naming conflicts down the line.

💎 Improvements

Organised Request Management

From the "All Requests" screen, requests are now grouped by their status and ordered by the date requested in descending order. This improvement makes it easier for you to track and manage your requests, providing a more organised and intuitive interface.

Improved Dark Mode

We’ve tweaked the colour schemes in dark mode to improve visibility and readability. With these adjustments, elements are more distinguishable, and text is easier to read, providing a more comfortable user experience, especially in low-light environments.

Local Naming Policies

Local naming policies are now used when validating a resource. For external-facing teams, the prefix "EXT-" is added early on and is clearly visible. This enhancement promotes clarity and compliance, ensuring naming conventions are consistently followed.

Enhanced Search Capability

Our search functionality has been extended to include not only the name of a resource but also a secondary value where applicable, such as SharePoint site names and URLs. This improvement makes it much easier for you to find the resources you need.

The latest update to Percy Collaborate brings a whole host of new features and improvements that enhance the overall user experience. By automating processes, providing greater transparency, and improving usability, we aim to make your provisioning requests more efficient and productive. We’re committed to continually refining Percy Collaborate to meet your needs and look forward to your feedback on these new enhancements.
